Chad Pipkens
03/24/2022: Chad Pipkens takes 13th place in the FLW Tour bass tournament on Lake Hartwell with 25 pounds 7 ounces.
03/01/2011: Chad Pipkens was featured in FLW Outdoors Magazine's March 2011 issue on page 3 in the Livewell feature regarding his innovative use of Poor Boy's Baits Flogger to find deep bedding bass that others couldn't see on lakes such as Burt Lake in Northern Michigan where Chad dominated the BFL three years in a row, 2008 - 2010 with HUGE limits of smallmouth bass over 26 pounds in 2008 and almost 28 pounds in 2009 and 2010.
08/30/2010: Chad Pipkens takes 5th place at the 2010 BASS Northern Open Detroit River / Lake Erie in August 2010. His co-angler, Kenneth Taylor won the co-angler side of the BASS Northern Open using Poor Boy's Erie Darters.
I finished 5th at the Bassmaster open on the Detroit River. I weighed 18 lbs 11oz, 19 lbs 5oz and 18 lbs 12oz for the three days. On days one and two I caught the majority of my fish drop-shotting a Poor Boy's super soft DS Darter in black. There was a great crankbait bite in practice but it vanished for me in the tournament. In the last hour of the second day I had three big culls using a Poor Boy's super soft DS Darter in smoke. This played a large part in day three too! I caught every one of my fish on that darter on day 3... as did my co-angler! We were picking them up off the floor! My co-angler for day 3 won the tournament and won a brand new boat, and my co-angler from day one was leading the tournament.
08/09/2010: It's Chad Pipkens again. Just dropping a line to give you a short update on the Forrest Wood Cup. I ended up finishing in 7th place overall on the co-angler side. I was paired with Mark Rose on Day 1 and i caught 2 fish for 5lbs 1oz and was in 15th place. One of the fish I caught was on a top water and the other was on a drop shot. On day two I fished with Larry Nixon and caught 4 keepers that weighed 8 lbs 13oz. Every fish I caught this day was on a Poor Boy's super soft DS darter in a new color - creme belly with green pumpkin blue back. Each of these fish were caught drop shotting the darter in 28 to 32 feet of water. I was in 4th place after this. On day 3 I fished with Jason Meninger. I caught 2 keepers that day that weighed around 3 lbs. This put me in 7th overall.
07/24/2010: I just fished the FLW American Fishing Series at Lake Champlain. I finished 22nd on the Professional side. I weighed 18 lbs 6 oz on day one with a dead fish penalty for 17 lbs 14 oz total and I weighed 14 lbs 6 oz on day two. I located many of the fish in practice using a crankbait and a top water. In the tournament I caught a few key fish on the crankbait and the top water but the majority of my fish came on a Poor Boys super soft DS darter in green pumpkin organge. I caught these fish drop shotting the ds darter though I found them in practice cranking.
I finished 46th at Gunterville for the tour as a co angler. I caught all of my fish on an 11inch worm and a one ounce jig. Though I didn’t fish great, I did fish good enough to cash a check and finish in 24th for the year end points. This secured me a spot in the 2010 Forrest Wood Cup. It will be my second time here. The tourney is the first week of august.
07/07/2010: I won the BFL at Burt and Mullet Lakes this June for the third year in a row. I also had big bass for the third year in a row. The picture attached is off my two big fish and the article below was on FLW. I caught all of my fish sight fishing beds in 10-15 feet of water around rock and wood. All fish were caught drop shotting a Poor Boys super soft DS Darter in white and pink. I used the Flogger I purchased from Poor Boys to help find all of the fish as well.
I finished 12th at Ft. Loudoun and Tellico Lakes for the FLW tour as a co angler. 80% of my fish came on a Poor Boys Green pumpkin blue shakin worm on a shakey head. The others came on a small craw with a Poor Boys Stick weight stuffed inside it so I could crawl it along all of the laydowns
I finished 24th at table Rock for the FLW tour as a co- angler. I caught all of my fish on a Poor boys super soft DS Darter in Green pumpkin blue and a jerkbait.
I started the year off at Lake Okeechobee fishing the Eastern Series on the professional side for the first time. I finished 33rd and cashed a good check. I caught all of my fish off beds sight fishing with a white tube and a creature bait dipped in orange dye.
